2021 Bring the Conversation to Light

The 2021 Bring the Conversation to Light Luncheon may have been the best one ever. This luncheon, because we were still in the throws of COVID, was held in person as well as live streamed on The Foundation’s Youtube channel for those who preferred to watch virtually. Yet even with COVID still looming, over 800 people attended in person and 200 watched online.

All of the Luncheon speakers spoke from the heart. The keynote speaker for the luncheon was Former Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price who spoke passionately about suicide prevention, having lost her nephew to suicide. Jordan’s aunt Mary Margaret Graham’s speech was emotional as she shared stories of Jordan and expressed beautifully how Jordan’s loss affected her. Dr. Debra Atkisson spoke about the impact the JEHF’s funding support has had on the Thrive Program at the TCU and UNTHSC Medical School. Chris Culver (joined on stage by Tom Harris and John Pergande) made a surprise announcement about The Light the Trail Ride 2022 which will take place in October of 2022.

Our emcee, Carlo Capua, kept the program moving along smoothly and the grand finale was a wonderful performance of “You Will Be Found” from Dear Evan Hanson by the Westlake Academy Hope Squad.  All in all a fantastic event.
