What is Postvention?
An organized response in the aftermath of a suicide in order to:
facilitate the healing of individuals from the grief and distress of suicide loss
mitigate other negative effects of exposure to suicide
prevent suicide among people who are at high risk after exposure to suicide
Resources for Loss Survivors
Carson’s Village
At no cost, provides assistance with all the practical steps necessary after a death by suicide. Making burial arrangements, hosting family and friends, planning and coordinating funeral services as well as tracking gifts…these are just a few of the tasks Carson’s Village helps facilitate for free.
LOSS Team
Available to provide postvention support and resources to bereaved loved ones either on-scene or when one is ready to find help.

The WARM Place
After the death of a loved one, provides peer-support groups and a safe environment for children and their families to express feelings and emotions as well as the opportunity to meet with others who are experiencing similar situations.
American Association of Suicidology
To promote the understanding and prevention of suicide and support those who have been affected by it. The AAS network includes mental health and public health professionals, researchers, crisis center volunteers, survivors of suicide loss, attempt survivors, and a variety of lay persons who have in interest in suicide prevention.
