Learn the tools to save a life.

Let’s Taco ‘Bout QPR is a free suicide prevention training combined with Taco Tuesday to bring our community together and give every person the confidence and competence to help someone at risk for suicide.

*Advance registration required for attendance!

What is QPR?

Question, Persuade, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.

Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in the evidence-based QPR course learn how to:

  • recognize the warning signs of suicide crisis

  • question the individual’s desire or intent regarding suicide

  • persuade the person to seek and accept help and

  • refer the person to appropriate resources

  • Is this training appropriate for children?

QPR is recommended for middle school aged children to adults. In fact, attending this training with your kiddo is a great way to open the lines of communication regarding suicide and things they may be seeing or watching on social media or TV. Plus, tacos!

  • Is parking available?

Yes! In front of and behind Ensemble Coworking.

  • What do I need to bring?

Just your appetite! We will provide all necessary materials, including a QPR training booklet that is yours to keep.

  • What if I have additional questions?

For any other questions or information please contact our Program Director, Kristi Wiley, at k.wiley@jehfoundationfw.org

The hour we spent together going through the QPR training was eye-opening and empowering. I now know how to ask “Have you ever thought of hurting yourself?”, a question I never could have asked before. I feel now that truly, I could save someone’s life.
